Boxing is one of the most refined striking arts in the world — known for its footwork, head movement, and devastating hand speed. If you're looking for boxing training in Central Florida, you already understand the value of quality striking instruction. At Gracie Barra Davenport, our Muay Thai and Kickboxing program includes all of boxing's core techniques — jabs, crosses, hooks, uppercuts, footwork, and defensive head movement.
What Muay Thai adds to the boxing toolkit is significant: kicks (low, body, and head), knees and elbows at close range, and clinch work — the ability to control an opponent in a standing grapple. Many professional boxers cross-train in Muay Thai to develop a more complete striking game, and Muay Thai fighters are known for having some of the most powerful punches in combat sports.
At Gracie Barra Davenport, our striking program combines Muay Thai fundamentals with kickboxing and boxing technique. You'll train on heavy bags, Thai pads, focus mitts, and with partners in controlled sparring — developing real striking ability, not just fitness. Classes run 6 days a week for kids (6+) and adults (14+).
What Our Striking Program Covers
- Full boxing fundamentals: jab, cross, hook, uppercut, combinations
- Kicks: low kicks, body kicks, head kicks, teeps (push kicks)
- Elbows and knees — devastating close-range weapons
- Clinch work and sweeps — standing grappling control

- Pad work, bag work, and controlled sparring
